Andrea Maack Perfumes has been at Rammagerðin for a very long time. Her aesthetic is something that’s hard to walk past without giving it a moment of attention. From afar, the black bottles with white typography and their original, distinctive shape project a sense of raw minimalism, drawing people in to discover what’s inside.
Andrea Maack Perfumery
Andrea Maack is a visual artist and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Iceland. Always surrounded by fashion and art, she moved to London after graduating to further explore her artistic practice and fashion interests. Her minimalist installations, which combine art and fashion, attracted significant attention from audiences encountering her work.
How did it all start
For Andrea Maack, art installations were the primary way she introduced and presented her newest fragrances. Beginning with SMART (Smell Art), a scent released in 2008 that evokes fresh clay—powdery, sweet, milky, and silky, and one of my personal favourites—the fragrance was created as part of an art installation. In this work, she recreated the scent of a previous artwork and captured it in perfume form.
This was only the beginning, as Andrea was using perfume as a medium for her art.
Now, in 2026, Andrea Maack has released many cult perfumes. To the point where our customers keep coming back for more and asking about fragrances that have been discontinued, she has clearly built a very strong fan base here in Iceland.

Andrea Maack has said that she is not a vanilla lover. Although Jest is a sweet fragrance, it evolves beautifully on the skin. It opens with a rich sweetness, but after a moment the spices begin to unfold, followed by notes of plum and green apple that add depth and contrast.
