For the first time in nearly fifty years, production of tweed fabric made from Icelandic wool has begun.

For several years Kormákur and Skjöldur have worked to establish the Icelandic Tweed brand and produce under it a tweed fabric woven entirely from Icelandic wool. The wool in the tweed comes in four base colours — moorland red, white, grey and black. From these four colours we design a range of patterns by blending the colours together, which then form a cohesive collection. The wool comes from all corners of Iceland, the yarn is spun by Ístex in Mosfellsbær and the tweed is then woven at one of the finest wool mills in Europe.
