The Arctic sweaters are part of Rammagerðin's Arctic line, which is made in collaboration with fashion designer Sigrún Hölla Unnarsdóttir and produced in the VARMA knitting factory.
The sweaters are exceptionally warm and made from 100% Icelandic wool. When designing the line, Sigrún Halla drew inspiration from images of ice floes floating on the ocean from above.
"There is a wonderful stillness about these images, at the same time as concerns about global warming creep into your mind," says Sigrún Halla.

Arctic Wool Sweater kit
The Arctic Wool Sweaters are a part of our Arctic line designed by the clothing designer Sigrún Halla Unnarsdóttir and made locally in Reykjavík in the Varma knitting factory, which is owned by Rammagerðin. The sweaters are incredibly warm and carefully made using 100% Icelandic wool. In designing the Arctic line, Sigrún Halla drew inspiration from aerial images where icebergs can be seen floating around in the ocean.
"There is a wonderful calmness in these pictures at the same time as concerns about global warming weigh on one's mind," says Sigrún Halla.
