The Framework's Social Policy

Since the founding of Rammagerðinn in 1940, the main focus has been to support Icelandic design and craftsmanship. This is where our core social responsibility lies. Rammagerðinn's uniqueness lies in having developed with society and Icelandic culture. In this way, growth and innovation in the field of design and craftsmanship in Iceland go hand in hand with our success. Our ambition is to support that growth in a sustainable way.

With courage, we have managed to create a platform for Icelandic design and craftsmanship in our stores. For years, Rammagerðin has traded in woolen goods and clothing made from Icelandic wool, supported ceramic production and other crafts, this production reflects our emphasis on sustainability and support for Icelandic design. Our social role lies primarily in supporting Icelandic ingenuity, the Icelandic design community and domestic production.

We are aware of the impact that our operations have on the environment. We have set a policy that involves minimizing the environmental footprint in our value chain and prioritize good practices and transparency in the selection of partners, suppliers and service providers. We are committed to creating a desirable workplace with respect and human rights as our guiding principles. The goal of the Framework is to promote sustainability in all our stores. We want to be a leader in this field and take our role seriously.
