Every year, Rammagerðin produces a wide range of fun Christmas products in collaboration with Icelandic designers. To promote the products this year and celebrate Advent, it was decided to host a so-called Christmas Eve at Rammagerðin.
The event was held at Skólavörðustígur 12, Rammagerðin's flagship store. Sigga Soffía stood at the door, welcoming guests with fragrant fireweed mulled wine.
Sigga Sophie's Fire Flower Lögg
Choreographer and dancer Sigga Soffía launched her perfume at Rammagerðinn at the end of November. She created the fragrance in collaboration with Fischersund perfume house. Rammagerðinn has launched more products from this talented artist, including her book Til tímkús með að þyr mannleg and gift cards for Eldblóm, which will be delivered in March 2024. It was therefore fitting to celebrate the collaboration with an event where guests were served Eldblómglögg, served by Sigga Soffía herself.

Ragnheiður Ingunn came and introduced Eilífðarmolani
One of the projects that Rammagerðinn worked on for this Christmas was in collaboration with Ragnheiður Ingunn. The idea came up to produce chocolate morsels from ceramics which ended up being named Eilífðarmolar . The morsels come in many shapes and sizes and no two are the same.

The pieces came in chocolate brown, gold and silver. As the project progressed, it was decided to create pieces that could be used as a small box to serve the chocolate pieces in, and eventually the idea came to create pieces that contained candles. The pieces can therefore be used as table decorations, boxes or candles, but they create a uniquely festive atmosphere.

Ragnheiður Ingunn is a unique artist and is always in a great mood. It was great to have him at the Christmas event to introduce the pieces to the guests. Ragnheiður Ingunn has a fun studio at Njálsgata 58 where she welcomes guests who are interested in viewing her designs and observing the production.

Björn Steinar, designer of the 2024 Christmas cat
Björn Steinar Blumenstein, who runs the studio Stúdíó Björn Steinar, attended the event to introduce the Christmas Cat to guests. The Christmas Cat is an annual design project that Rammagerðin works on in collaboration with a new designer each year.

A design project that revolves around the Christmas cat each year begins at the beginning of the year and is a multi-month process. Björn Steinar says that the Christmas cat has been in his mind almost since he received the project in February 2023. He drew inspiration from various sources and took a lot of time to design the shape he wanted for the cat. You can read more about the Christmas cat here .

Dear guests and Christmas greetings
The event was open to all and a good number of guests poured in. A great Christmas atmosphere was created as Advent was celebrated in good company.
