The frame manufacturing industry, which has accompanied Icelanders since 1940, is proud that women have been leaders and have held a central position in the company's operations.
Ever since Rammagerðin evolved from a frame shop to a gift shop and began selling Icelandic handicrafts such as lopa products and ceramics, the store has worked closely with women in Iceland. From 1950, Rammagerðin created numerous job opportunities for women in the fields of handicrafts and later design, establishing itself as an important place in Icelandic commercial history.
