Varma Gefjun Wool Blanket VARMA

Varma Gefjun ullarteppi

€149 €189

Wool Washing guide

I stained my wool product. How do i take care of it?

Spot cleaning: For small stains, you often don't need a full wash, dab with a cloth and a little wool wash diluted in water, working from the outside of the stain in.

How do i dry Icelandic wool?

Drying

  • Lay the item on a clean towel, roll it up to squeeze out excess water, then unroll.
  • Reshape it to its original dimensions and dry flat on a fresh towel or drying rack, away from direct sun or heat.
  • Never hang wet wool — it'll stretch out of shape.
How do i wash Icelandic wool?

Hand washing (recommended)

  1. Fill a basin with lukewarm to cool water (around 30°C/86°F) — never hot, and avoid big temperature swings.
  2. Add a wool-specific detergent (like Woolite, Eucalan, or a no-rinse wool wash) or a mild, pH-neutral soap.
  3. Submerge the item and gently press water through it — don't rub, scrub, twist, or agitate. Agitation + heat is what causes felting.
  4. Let it soak for 10–15 minutes.
  5. Drain and press out soapy water (don't wring). Refill with clean water at the same temperature and rinse by pressing, not swishing.
